PRE CLASS

Each actor will tape a Slate & a modern monologue or prepared sides that showcases the character they think best represents their “type”.  They will submit this digitally to the REELARC team. Actors will be cast into pairs and the staff writer will begin the process of creating an original scene to show their work at its best. Scripts will be emailed to the actors prior to the class. All actors should be off book by the first class. Actors will have a choice of 3 shooting days the following week; either the 28th/29th/30th

DAY 1

Level 1 – SCRIPT ANALYSIS PRIMER: Actors meet the REELARC team and their scene partners for the first time. Actors will review their taped monologues in a class setting, Guy and Steven will discuss their natural “Signal” and their brand in general.  Actors will then tape the monologues in class once again with adjustments given and will compare the change between tapes

Level 2– REHEARSING and CAMERA PRIMER:  Actors will perform their scenes for the first time . Guy and Steven will film the scenes and they will be workshopped in class.

DAY 2

Level 3 – ON-CAMERA PERFORMANCE: Expanding on what was learned a day before,  Guy and Steven will work with you to help craft a better performance, putting your script preparation and camera techniques into practice to prepare you for your time on set.

Level 4 – FILMMAKING FOR ACTORS:  Actors will rehearse their scenes on-camera, receiving coaching from the filmmakers on lenses, thinking like an editor, stillness, etc, so actors are prepared for their shoot. BONUS: time with the camera. Actors will get a chance to frame up their own scene partner, applying what they’ve learned.

WEEK OF THE SHOOT

Level 5  - THE SHOOT:  The production team will shoot each scene with 4K production, professional sound and lighting. Scenes will be fully edited, sound designed, color-corrected and scored over the next 3 weeks in our studio in NYC, providing each actor with a professional 60-90 second clip for inclusion in their reel. Specific times on set will be scheduled before the beginning of the course.

To apply please self tape and send a slate introducing yourself  & a modern monologue or prepared sides that showcases the character you think best represents your “type”.  and email it to hello@reelarc.com Subject line: Orlando Workshop
